New images 1: Curracabundi
A long walk in the spring of 2020, exploring the hinterland of the NSW mid north coast. Here a suite of obscure rivers centred on the Barnard dissect a collection of conservation reserves, notably Woko, Curracabundi and Nowendoc national parks. A large area is designated as the Curracabundi Wilderness, a mix of historical clearing in the larger valleys with beautiful ridges and creeks. The impacts of the great drought and the bushfires that followed in the 2019-2020 summer were sadly apparent, but so were pristine forests and wild creeks. We saw Brush-tailed Rock-wallabies and lots of red chert rocks.
